How is extracting different from splitting?
Extracting copies a chosen set of pages into a new file and leaves the source complete. Splitting cuts the whole document into consecutive sections.
Will the source document change?
No. Extraction only reads it. If you also want those pages gone from the source, run Delete Pages afterwards.
Can I extract pages that are not next to each other?
Yes. A selection such as 3, 8, 14 is planned to produce one PDF holding those three pages in that order.
Will extracted pages keep their formatting?
Yes. Pages are copied whole, including fonts, images, page size, and orientation.
Can I extract from a protected file?
The open password has to be removed first, on a document you own and know the password for.
